Having started cooking at age of 7 to gain a merit badge for Cub Scouts, The Culinary Dude, Chef Scott Davis, has never stopped creating amazing, imaginative and healthy food since. Receiving a degree in Education as well as a degree from the Le Cordon Bleu Program at California Culinary Academy, The Culinary Dude has combined both his passions since 2005. With the goal of empowering kids in the kitchen, his classes and camps are presented in a non-threatening, pressure-less environment and teaches to the students and not at them. The Culinary Dude was a picky eater as a child and understands the kid's point of view. Once a child has participated in the creating of recipes, he suggests that they "at least try it" and if they don't like it they have his permission to spit it out in the trash can. Bottom line, they tried. In theory, this can help them get over the "picky eater" hump. There are no issues with the diversity in age as all participants are working towards the same goal. In no way does this inhibit the process of learning for any of the participants. "Once students have mastered the process of the how's, what's, where's, why's and when's of cooking and recipe comprehension, a focus on the product will naturally follow."
